Preethi Stolpman

Yoga Instructor

I was introduced to yoga at a very young age by my mother. She originally learned yoga in India, and was committed to an asana, pranayama, and meditation practice. I myself began practicing yoga as an adult in 1998 in Portland, Oregon and fell head over heels in love with it! Since then, I have had a very consistent, dedicated personal practice. I feel energized, a sense of focus and purpose, relaxation and peace, all at once when practicing. My long-held dream of becoming a yoga teacher came true when I completed my 230 hour teacher training in June 2021 with the Yoga Center Retreat.

I am an attorney and practiced law for many years in Oregon, which I stopped in order to raise my three boys. I am also an interior stylist, with an academic background in residential planning. So, besides the world of yoga, interior design is a huge passion of mine!

My family, consisting of my husband, three boys and mini golden doodle, mean everything to me. I love playing competitive singles and doubles tennis, cooking and trying new recipes with my husband, and spending quality time with my family and dear friends. I value my friends and people who are authentic, who can go deep, yet also have a quality of lightheartedness, a sense of humor. Other true loves of mine are: reading meaningful fiction, a great cup of coffee, an amazing glass of wine, the adventures of traveling, food made with simple, natural ingredients, and last but not least, fashion and dressing, which I have adored since I was a little girl!

I desire to genuinely connect with my students, help them to develop an authentic love of yoga, as well as achieve a higher quality of life.

“Yoga is a dance between control and surrender – between pushing and letting go – and when to push and to let go becomes part of the creative process, part of the open-ended exploration of your well-being.” -Joel Kramer
