Elondria Byndom
Yoga Instructor
I discovered yoga over 20 years ago by chance. I was a member at a local gym and yoga classes were being offered after the twice weekly step aerobics class. One day I decided to stay after and check it out. I loved the contrast between the two classes and appreciated the introspection it encouraged. I continued taking classes two days a week until the gym closed. From that point, I began to develop my home practice by using books and videos. I also attended classes at local studios. I found balance and clarity that I was able to carry off the mat. I still continue to grow and learn in my yoga practice.
I completed my 200 hour YTT at the Yoga Center Retreat in October 2023. My goal initially was to deepen my personal practice but then I felt the pull to teach and bring yoga to a much wider audience.
During my training, I learned that yoga encompasses so much more than a physical practice. I imagined what our world could look like if more people practiced yoga and embraced yogic philosophy. The hope, peace and centeredness that was cultivated during my training was something that I wanted to share with others.
As a yoga teacher, I invite participants to listen to their bodies and move in a way that suits them. Using invitational language and offering various options, I strive to make yoga accessible and inviting. I look forward to practicing with you!
